A special operation conducted by the Northwest VA Regional Drug and Gang Task Force cracked down on illegal narcotics in the area.

The eight hour operation happened Thursday night. It’s called “Operation Valley Venue.” More than a handful of people got arrested in Winchester and Frederick County.

Here is a list of them:
Jeremy Simpson – probation violation
Matthew Hoenig – possession of narcotics and probation violation
Terry Johnson – providing false information to a law enforcement officer
Carroll Smith – possession of marijuana
Bradley Martin – probation violation
Kathleen Stickley – possession of marijuana

During the searches, they found heroin, marijuana, crack cocaine, powder cocaine, and prescription drugs. And they took more than $900 from a home in the 100 block of Lamden Avenue. Also, five homes were cited with code violations and a residence on Bellview Avenue was deemed uninhabitable by Zoning and Inspections.

This was the first operation of its kind conducted in Winchester and Frederick County. They say it’s part of the Task Force’s effort to get drugs off our streets and make our area a safer place to live.
