Friday Night Live

Old Town Mall Walking Mall
riday Night LIVE will feature two different music venues, one located in the Habel parking lot and the other at the Cork Street parking lot. Each of these venues will showcase different styles of music and feature some of the area’s top musical talent. Within the music venues food and drink vendors will be on hand selling both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. These venues will open at 5:00 pm and the bands will play from 5:30 pm until 10:00 pm. To purchase tickets in advance for $10 visit http://www.showclix.com/event/FridayNightLIVE or purchase them the day of for $15.
In addition, the walking mall will be open and host a variety of family friendly entertainment acts that are free to the public. Witness street performers including cartoonists, jugglers, magicians and acoustic bands performing throughout the walking mall bringing smiles to people of all ages. Old Town Winchester merchants will also be open to feature their products and services. Over 80 unique businesses ranging from art galleries, boutiques, specialty shops, eateries and museums will be joining up with Friday Night Live and be open to the public throughout these evenings.

Reflections through Music

Museum of the Shenandoah Valley
In this workshop artists ages 11 to 15 will learn basic painting techniques and be introduced to American impressionists and the music that may have inspired them. After a brief discussion, participants will explore American Impressionism and then put their inspired thoughts on canvas while listening to music written during the American Impressionist movement (1870–1920).

Gardens at Night: Bruce Ewan

Museum of the Shenandoah Valley
Harmonica maestro Bruce Ewan is bringing the blues to Gardens at Night. Accompanied by legendary guitarist Steve “Baby Jake” Jacobs, Ewan will perform a fabulous mix of original music, classics from blues greats, and blues music that was influential to the development of modern rock during the 1960s. Ewan and Jacobs have been part of the Washington, DC blues scene for more than 30 years, and both have toured Europe and Latin America to great acclaim.
Tour the galleries, explore the gardens, and enjoy wine from Bogati Bodega & Vineyard (sold by the bottle/glass), and dinner from Bill’s Backyard BBQ and River House Pizza. There will also be activities for the kids! Please bring your own chair. Gates open at 6 p.m.; music begins at 7 p.m. Sponsored by Q102.
