The 2013 North Fork Exploration is a weeklong summer river education workshop for middle and high school students (rising 6th-12th graders) from public, private and home schools. The entire class will be conducted in outdoor settings by Friends of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. The workshop includes: a canoe trip on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River; visits to river-friendly farms to learn about conservation; meeting forestry, wildlife and conservation professionals; a study of water above and below the ground; fishing and a cookout! PLEASE NOTE: Deadline to register is June 3 (Session A) and June 17 (Session B). For grades 6th thru 12th. DAY TIME SESSIONS LOCATION INSTRUCTOR

Blue Ridge Wildlife Center!
Join us as we hike and explore the forest, meet wild animals face to face, participate in scavenger hunts, and make bird houses, feeders, and other crafts.
Wildlife Discovery Camp is for children ages 7-12.
Sessions are on Tuesdays from 9:30am-2:30pm and are $25 each.

Teen Art Camp

Museum of the Shenandoah Valley
This camp for high school students (ages 14+) will encourage the creative spark in teen-art enthusiasts by offering them the opportunity to work with a variety of art mediums, interact with professional artists, and tour the MSV galleries. Each day will include two hands-on art exercises that will focus on painting, drawing, and creating three-dimensional art. A professional painter, a graphic artist, and a photographer will visit the camp. Participants will also visit artists’ studios. For artists of all skill levels.

$50 per person (includes all materials); participants may bring lunch or purchase a box lunch. Registration required by June 7.
