When Clarke County stepped onto the court this past season, the orange and blue revolved around Christian Waters. And the Eagles' center did not disappoint, leading the boys from Berryville to an unprecedented championship repeat. "It was exciting, I still haven't come down." said the Clarke County senior. "I was on cloud nine for 2 or 3 weeks straight."
After winning a state title during Christian's junior season, it might have been easy for the Eagles to lose focus during their quest to repeat. But Waters never let that happen as their captain, he kept everyone in check. "I told him in practice, I can't always be the bad guy." noted Clarke County head coach Brent Emmart. "As a captain and leader he needed to assume some leadership and get on the guys."
While his unselfish play clearly rubbed off on Waters teammated so did his actions off the floor, where Christian served as the perfect role model for a Clarke County student athlete.
