Determined, Driven and Dominant. Those are just three of the D words you can use when talking about Handley High School senior Anna Cote. But perhaps dedicated is the best word for a young lady always wiling to go the extra mile in the classroom and while running Cross Country.
"She's an extremely hard worker and she will do whatever it takes to make herself better, and it really carries over to the classroom," Mike McKiernan, Anna's Cross Country Coach and Social Studies Teacher said.
The juggling act between being a student and an athlete isn't always an easy one but Anna's 3.6 GPA has gotten her into Seton Hill University where she'll run Cross Country and Track.
"Just balancing the two, you've got to make sure you're doing your schoolwork so you can run, you have to eat right and sleep right for running, you just have to balance everything." Cote added.
Congratulations to Anna Cote for being named TV3 Winchester's Student Athlete of the Week.
