Latasha Watson holds plenty of school records at Sherando, and she broke all of those records while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA.
"I used to not have good grades and then in 8th grade it just clicked," Watson said. "A lot of people said there's no way you can get straight A's and do sports, and that kinda pushes me."
Watson not only excels in the classroom, but also on the track, winning the Virginia AA State Championship in the 400 meters.
"People are gunning for Latasha Watson when they step up to the line in the 400," Sherando Head Coach Tom Grim said. "She's going to get their best effort every time."
Watson's contributions to the team extends far beyond just winning State Championships, Watson also holds a key leadership role for the Sherando track team.
"When Latasha arrived at Sherando she was a star, but not necessarily a leader. After four years of hard work that's changed and she now the driving force for the Warrior's program," Grim said.
Congratulations to Latasha Watson for being named TV3 Winchester's Student Athlete of the Week.
