Meteorologist Drew Tuma joined the TV3 Winchester team in September of 2010. During his time at TV3, Drew has been awarded the prestigious AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) Seal, which is regarded as the top accreditation in the broadcast meteorology field. Born in West Hartford, Connecticut and raised in Pennsylvania, Drew went to The Pennsylvania State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology with a focus in Broadcasting and Forecasting.
During his time at Penn State, Drew presented forecasts for CNET, a State College TV channel, was an active member with the Campus Weather Service, the largest student-run weather organization in the country, a member of the meteorological honor fraternity Chi Epsilon Pi as well as a member of the American Meteorological Society.
He also interned in the weather department at CBS3 in Philadelphia. A self-professed news junkie, Drew was a reporter and co-producer for Comm Radio, Penn State's daily news web station.
When not researching the latest hurricane or tracking the next snowstorm, Drew enjoys skiing in the wintertime, eating all varieties of food, hanging out with friends, rooting for his Nittany Lions and running. He hopes to complete his first half-marathon next year.
Drew can't wait to share his passion and knowledge about weather with the people of the Shenandoah Valley. Feel free to contact him at Drew@tv3winchester.com.
