ROANOKE, Va. (AP) -- A Roanoke-based public television station is cutting three jobs due to a loss of state funding.

Media outlets report that Blue Ridge PBS lost a $305,000 education services grant for programming and online material for schools in Southwest Virginia. A $97,000 community services grant also was cut. The cuts are effective July 1.

Blue Ridge PBS plans to eliminate its two-person education services department and an engineering position.
