Romney, Ryan to Campaign in Virginia

FISHERSVILLE, Va. (AP) -- Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney and vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan are returning to Virginia for their first joint appearance in the Old Dominion since Ryan was named Romney's running mate.

Their appearance Thursday at Augusta Expoland in Fishersville comes the day after Romney's first debate with President Barack Obama. The Republican candidates will be joined by country singer Trace Adkins.

The visits are the latest in a string of what has become weekly campaign stops in Virginia by both sides in the final weeks of the campaign.

Romney, Obama and Vice President Joe Biden campaigned in the state last week. Obama is set to return to northern Virginia on Friday.

Ryan was introduced as Romney's running mate on Aug. 11 aboard the USS Wisconsin in Norfolk.
