Johnson was a unanimous first team All-Northwestern District selection at defensive end last fall for the Pioneers.
He'll play defensive end with the Ferrum Panthers.
Johnson also plans on wrestling at the school. Ferrum's program is currently at the club level but will be sanctioned as a division three program next year.
