The Royals rocked the Express, 14-2.

Janson Carr tossed six scoreless innings to earn the win for Winchester.

Carr struck out 12 and walked one.

Ethan Harris was 4-4 with 7 RBI for the Royals. He was a double short of the cycle.

Designated hitter Joseph Odom hit two home runs for Winchester.

Brad Picha, making his return to the lineup following a nine game suspension was 1-4 with two walks. He homered in his first at bat of the game.

Game two is Saturday night at Strasburg. First pitch is 6:30.
