Less than one week after Sergio Kindle fractured his skull after falling down a flight of stairs, the Baltimore Ravens have learned that their other second round pick Terrence Cody may also not be participating in the team's training camp.
Cody, who was selected 57th overall (just 14 picks after Kindle), failed his conditioning test Tuesday and will not be permitted to participate in the team's first training camp practice. The defensive lineman weighs about 360 pounds and told the Associated Press that he felt his weight dropped him to the second round or the 2010 NFL Draft. After failing his physical Cody was place on the Physically Unable to Perform list (PUP).
"Part of our process is everybody's got to pass the conditioning test to be sure they're ready to compete," coach John Harbaugh told the Associated Press after Tuesday's practice. "It's going to be hot out here, our practices are fast. We've got to be sure guys are physically ready to practice at the pace we're practicing at. So, when he passes the conditioning test, he'll practice."
Kindle, on the other hand, is expected to miss all of Baltimore's training camp due to his fractured skull. The 43rd overall pick is currently still in the hospital.
The Ravens have 10 players on the PUP list: Safety Ed Reed, linebacker Brendon Ayanbadego, cornerbacks Fabian Washington, Lardarius Webb, Prince Miller, and Walt Harris, offensive tackle Oniel Cousins, running back Matt Lawrence, and wide receiver Rodelin Anthony.
