Chandler Rhoads knows all about reaching new heights. That should bode well for him as the Clarke County senior heads to the Air Force Academy to continue his basketball career. Rhoads leaves Berryville as the Eagles' all-time leading scorer, but his accomplishments go far beyond points. He led Clarke County to back to back state titles in 2006 and 2007 and was named state player of the year in 07'. After delaying his decision for the better part of a year, Rhoads says it was the official visit that sealed the deal. "I had a great experience on my visit and decided that's where I needed to be" says the 2007 Group A State Player of the year. "I spent a lot of time with the coach, Jeff Reynolds, and it's where I want to go".

Rhoads accomplishment is made even more noteworthy considering where he's coming from. It's often difficult for small school players to get recognized by Division I programs, something Rhoads is acutely aware of.

"It's been my dream forever to play Division 1 basketball" says the 6'2" guard "it's pretty cool to come out of a small town and make it somewhere like the Air Force Academy."
