Ross Metheny has made a name for himself across the state of Virginia... and last weekend the Sherando quarterback took another step in cementing his Commonwealth legacy by verbally committing to play football for the University of Virginia. Metheny threw for 24 touchdowns last fall and took the Warriors to the Group AA State Title game where Sherando fell to Amherst High School. Metheny also had a scholarship offer from the University of Connecticut, and went on visits to several other schools before choosing UVA. "A lot of player from around the area and the state have already committed down there" said Metheny. "But most importantly it's the best public education in the country."
"Most people get a glimpse of Ross on Friday evenings." added Sherando Football Coach Bill Hall. "But the type of character he possesses as a person is what makes him special."
