After losing quarterback Ross Metheny to injury in the 2nd quarter, Sherando fell 56-10 to Amherst in the AA Div. 4 state championship game.

The Warriors led 7-0 after Markeith Brisco's 2-yard touchdown run with 6:34 left in the first quarter. Sherando again reclaimed the lead via a field goal from Lukas Stump from 27 yards out, unfortunately junior Quarterback Ross Metheny hurt his ankle on the 3rd down play that preceeded the field goal and Sherando was held scoreless the rest of the way.

Amherst racked up 559 yards rushing on the day, including 8 touchdown runs, 3 coming from Virginia Tech commit Peter Rose. The Lancers, who won the state championship for the second year in a row, finished the season with a perfect 14-0 mark.
