Clarke County High School's Danielle Moyer has been awarded the prestigious Wendy's High School Heisman award for the state of Virginia.
The High School Heisman, awarded in conjunction with the collegiate Heisman, celebrates the achievements of the nation's top high school seniors in and out of the classroom.
To be eligible for the High School Heisman students must display academic aptitude, athletic talent and exceptional commitment to their communities.
Moyer, a senior, participates in cross country, basketball and soccer at Clarke County, while also staying active in the community.
"To look back and see that for the past two years the state winner has been from Clarke County, at least girls wise, that says a lot about our program," said Moyer. "Even aside from the athletic accomplishments we've had, you look at academically we've been ranked in the top of the nation."
"All our winners have shown throughout their high school careers that they embody the Wendy's High School Heisman lifestyle," said Mrs. Francis Ball, Principal of Clarke County High School. "The award is the perfect way to celebrate her achievements and showcase the outstanding talent at Clarke County High School."
Congratulations to Danielle Moyer for winning the Wendy's High School Heisman for the State of Virginia.
