Martha Ann “Marti” Zirkle, 72, of West Virginia, formerly of Edinburg, VA, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in Winchester Medical Center. She was born November 8, 1939 in Cheverly, MD the daughter of Francis O. White, Jr. and Maybelle Molineu White. Surviving are a son, Rory Jay Hawkins of New Market, VA; a brother, James “Whitey” White of Slanesville, WV; a sister, Katherine “Kat” Moreland of Levels, WV; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Zirkle’s wishes were to donate her remains to medical research. A memorial service will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in Woods Chapel Independent Bible Church, New Market, VA with Pastor Glen Turner officiating. A meal will be provided at the church following the service. Arrangements are by Phelps Funeral & Cremation Service, Winchester.
