Winston David Huffman, 88, of Middletown, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center. He was born August 27, 1923 in Frederick County the son of Joseph D. and Lena Brumback Huffman. He married Elizabeth Grove August 21, 1944 in Baltimore, MD. Mr. Huffman was a self-employed farmer. He was a deacon of the Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church, a member and past president of Middletown Lions Club, a member and past president of Shawquon Ruritan Club, a member of Mine Bank Hunt Club and a director and past president of Shenandoah Mutual Fire Insurance Company. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Kitty Huffman LeMarr and her husband John D. of Winchester and Rebecca Huffman Rickard and her husband Larry E. of Stephens City; a son, David Eugene Huffman of Winchester; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and a dear family friend, Janet Medvez. A son, Stephen B. Huffman; a brother, Joseph Carlyle Huffman and two sisters, Lettie H. Bray and Louise Huffman are all deceased. A funeral service will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Phelps Funeral Chapel, 311 Hope Drive, Winchester with Brother Gary Utz and Deacon Charles Sutphin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Middletown. Pallbearers will be Jason LeMarr, John LeMarr, Gene Rickard, David R. Huffman, Dwain Hahn and Bryan Hahn. An honorary pallbearer will be Arin Hahn.
