Norman Kenneth “Ken” Jones, 85, of Winchester, VA, formerly of Gore, VA died on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Jones was born on August 9, 1926 in Martinsburg, WV, a son of the late George C. and Ethel M. Euglow Jones. He was a carpenter and a World War II veteran in United States Army where he served as a Tech Sergeant. He attended Capon Springs School and a member of the Winchester Church of God in Winchester, VA.
Mr. Jones married India K. Triplett Jones on May 26, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD. Mrs. Jones died on January 6, 1995.
Surviving is a son: Mark K. Jones and his wife Christine of Fredericksburg, VA; two brothers: George Lyle Jones of Winchester, VA; James Jones of Stephens City, VA; two sisters: Janet Smith and Harriott Keeler both of Winchester, VA.
He is preceded in death by a brother: Paul Jones and two sisters:
Evelyn and Helen Lockhart.
A funeral service will be held at the Winchester Church of God on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at 3:00 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Hartley Wigfield. Interment will be at the Bethel Cemetery in Gore, VA.
Family will receive friends at the Giffin Funeral Home in Capon Bridge, WV on Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 5-8 PM.
