Charles Davis Pierce, 83, of Berryville, VA died on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center, Winchester, VA.
Mr. Pierce was born on December 1, 1928 in Checotah, Oklahoma, the son of the late William Claud Pierce and Bonnie Beatrice Rhoades Pierce.
After he retired from the U. S. Air Force as a Senior Master Sergent, he worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency.
He married Mary Lona Yarbrough Pierce on December 31, 1952 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mrs. Pierce died on July 27, 2003.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Diane Triplett and her husband, Dean of Leesburg, VA and Sharon Ione Bowen and her husband, George Dorsey of Berryville, VA; a brother, William Pierce and his wife, Francis of Cathedral City, CA; five grandchildren, Brian Bowen and his wife, Janet, of Irmo, SC, Alicia Finch and her husband, Sean Cooper, of Reston, VA, David Bowen of West Springfield, VA, Mary Triplett of Richmond, VA, and Ian Triplett of Farmville, VA; and four great-grandchildren.
Services at Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
