Winchester Medical Center President and Senior Vice President of Valley Health, Alfred Pilong resigned from his position on Thursday.
That's according to Valley Health public relations manager Carol Weare.
Valley Health states: "Valley Health confirms the resignation of Winchester Medical Center President, Al Pilong. Mr. Pilong served the organization for 6 years, and made positive contributions to improving the health of the Winchester community, among them the recently completed campus expansion. We wish him well in his future endeavors. Valley Health President and CEO, Mark. H. Merrill, will work with the Valley Health System and Winchester Medical Center Boards and management team on a transition plan, and the appointment of an interim chief operating officer to assist in running the day-to-day operations at the medical center."
Pilong's resignation is effective October 31. He joined WMC in August 2005. He became president in July 2008.
