War Reenactor Has Family History in Civil War

Cedar Creek had one of their famous reenactments this weekend.

This time over one thousand people showed up to portray the battle of Manassas.

They even had a night battle.

And people from all over flocked the field in order to teach viewers about U.S. history.

Although the actual battles took place long ago, the civil war actors take their roles very seriously, and one in particular holds a very important place in his heart for the war. He is a descendant of a Confederate soldier.

"My dad took me to a battlefield when I was five years old. And I got interested. I had a grandmother that would tell be about my grand dad that was a soldier. and she was bed ridden and I would sit and we would talk about her grand daddy. When she passed away i was given a box and in it was a bible and his knife and his fork and a picture of my great great grandfather and I've been hooked" Said Jake Jennette

Jennette says he's seventy years old, and he's been "civil warring" since he was five.
