Drivers in Front Royal can expect some backups between Royal Avenue and Commerce Avenue.

The stoplight was struck by lightning yesterday morning which caused some damage.

For now, the lights are functioning...

But the signal for right turns off of Commerce Avenue onto Royal Avenue is stuck on red until new equipment is set up next week.

People who are near this intersection everyday are concerned.

"Probably be a little bit more wrecks if it's not fixed... soon. We'll probably see accidents there," said Stonewall Jackson's Restaurant employee Linda Whitmer.

Linda says she hasn't noticed any backups lately.

Other restaurant employees say accidents used to happen there all the time before those lights were put in.

And if there is an accident, they think their business may suffer.
