A locally preserved and nationally registered bridge's future is being debated.

This low-water bridge is a form of tourism for Warren County and the National Rural Historic District of Greenway.

But according to VDOT, the Morgan Ford Bridge could be replaced with a new, two-lane bridge.

Wayne Chatfield-Taylor is the owner of Morgan Ford Farm and says he and other residents think the bridge is a contributing factor to Greenway Historic District and should be left alone.

He also says this area is no place for a thru-truck route and fast cars, which is what this new bridge will accomodate.

The bridge is in the project design phase, which will review the historic and cultural resources of the area.
