Local School Collecting Prom Dresses for Thrift Shop

Prom is always a special time for high schoolers.

Now some local students will use the event to help benefit others as well.

Clarke County High School is holding a drive to collect prom dresses and shoes to donate to the Blue Ridge Hospice Thrift Shop to allow students who can't afford dresses at full price to dress up for the prom.

It's an opportunity to give back that folks at the thrift shop are quite grateful for.

“It's so much fun,” says Store Manager Robyn Stickley. “We help out so many people already, and to have people coming over from the high school who don't normally shop here, it's a lot of fun.”

The Clarke County High School prom is May 19.

There are designated places at the school for students to drop off their items for donation.
