Frederick county's own Bass-Hover Elementary School is receiving a state award!
The school was one of 102 schools in the commonwealth to be recognized for raising achievement of economically disadvantaged students.
The Virginia Board of Education is honoring Bass-Hover as a "Title I Distinguished School."
That means the school had to maintain state accreditation for two consecutive years, meet federal benchmarks in reading and math, as well as have average test scores in both subjects at the 60th percentile or higher.
