The buses are taking off from Handley high school and the students are heading home, but many parents won't be having the typical after school conversations with their kids.
This week, Adrian Ellis, a former art teacher was arrested for taking indecent liberties with a child under the age of 18.
The Winchester police department alleges Ellis had a sexual relationship with a female student from November 2008 to March 2009.
That was shocking news for parents like Anne Morissette.
She works in another local high school and she says many of the students she's spoken with including her own children aren't taking this incident seriously.
So now she's making sure her daughter knows why this is such big deal.
"There are just lines you don't cross as an adult. Its like, its never OK. You know with teachers, there are just lines you don't cross as an adult and this is a huge one," Morissette says.
Morissette says she is satisfied with the way the school has handled the situation, but she never received any notification. All she knows is what she's read in the paper and what her daughter has heard at school.
Morissette says, "We heard about it, it was in the paper. The guy is not in the building anymore. He's being prosecuted. They've handled it, he was removed. What am i going to do? Pull my kid? you know there is only so much you can do? and I have to trust that they're doing it, and I know they have protocols that they follow and they're very concerned about it too."
Winchester Public Schools spokespeople declined to comment on camera about the investigation, but the superintendent Dr. Richard Leonard did say:
"Generally speaking, when allegations are received relating to employees, we investigate those allegations and review the findings and make a determination of the appropriate consequences. We are cooperating fully with the Winchester Police Department."
Until this case goes to trial, Handley parents who have questions will have to wait in line.
TV3 will have more on this story as it develops.

Ms. Morissette is spot-on. As a teacher and as a parent, she sees this problem from two perspectives. I just wish all teachers were as articulate as she is about a very difficult situation.
I couldnt agree with Ms. Morisette more! I'ts bad enough when an adult crosses that line, but a teacher is even worse. It could happen anywhere and all you can do is critize the way the school handles it when they find out and it appears Handley is doing the best they can. It's really a shame to know that alot of students aren't taking this situation seriously.
