Members of some local fitness centers are doing their part to help the hungry in your community.
Curves is holding its 12th annual food drive. Non-perishable food will be collected through March.
The owner of Curves of Winchester hopes to collect 2,000 pounds of food. She a lot of donations are made during the holidays and food supplies are lower this time of year. In the first week members have already donated 500 pounds of groceries. "Our members are great, they always like to give back to the community and a lot of people don't know how to get plugged in. At Curves we're always trying to do outreach in our community such as this month doing our local food drive," says Curves of Winchester Owner Cathy Berens.
The food from the drive will go to the local Salvation Army and C-CAP. Any one interested in helping out can drop off non-perishable food items at any local Curves.
