A judge sealed records detailing what the sheriff's office discovered while searching the homes of the victim and her son Edward Kline Jr.
The Medical Examiner determined Landis died of multiple puncture wounds and she had been dead for several days before she was discovered.
Landis' body was found in her home Tuesday by her son after a neighbor finished plowing her driveway.
The Frederick County Sheriffs' office says there were no signs of forced entry and they believe it was someone who knew the victim.
Authorities say they are not releasing many details to preserve the integrity of the investigation.
Major Robert Eckman of the Frederick County Sheriffs Office says:
"It's still early in the investigation and we don't want to do anything that will harm the case. We know the public's desire for information and the news media, but our number one priority is to not jeopardize our case at this point."
