Tammy Shoremount and Freda Jackson will embark on an 1,800 mile journey to raise money for the Blue Ridge Hospice Sunday morning.
Shoremount is a hospice nurse and says the money will be used where it is needed most.
"If you can just imagine being sick for periods of time, out of work, just the expenses and un-expected things, that is what the money is used for," explains Tammy.
Paul Shoremount has been helping with the preparations. He says every dollar raised will go straight back to helping hospice patients and families.
"The stories I hear from my wife about all the need with people at that time in their life. There are so many things that this money could come in handy to help people pay for electric bills or groceries or whatever," says Paul.
"Until you have been in a care-giving situation, a lot of people can't imagine what it is like, but hospice does and they provide the support that the family members need," adds Jackson.
