Race Forecasts 3/29

Here are the forecasts for this weekend's race activities:


NASCAR Camping World Truck Series - Martinsville on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET on SPEED. A cold front will be exiting the region on Saturday, taking the threat of precip away with it. However, a 20% chance of a shower or storm before 3 p.m. remains. In general, look for a partly cloudy sky with a pleasant race time temperature around 75 degrees.


NASCAR Sprint Cup - Martinsville on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX. A departing cold front could keep a few clouds and an isolated shower or storm around the area Saturday morning for qualifying. Otherwise look for a mix of clouds and sun with a temp in the upper 60s. The weather looks good on Sunday as high pressure builds in. Look for a mostly sunny sky with a temperature around 77 degrees at race time.


IZOD IndyCar Series - Birmingham, AL on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network. A few disturbances will by pass through the region over the weekend, so there will times of clouds, plus a threat of showers and thunderstorms. There may be a few around on Saturday for qualifying (40% chance), and the temperature will be around 78 degrees. The threat of storms decreases on Sunday, and with more sunshine it will be warm. The race time temperature will be around 85 degrees.


Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series - Birmingham, AL on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on SPEED. The weather should be ok for racing on Saturday, but there is a 40% chance of storms. Otherwise, expect a partly cloudy sky with a green flag temperature around 80 degrees.
