Local Family Runs Endurance Events Grows Closer Together

Katy Spencer and her dad Chris completed an Ironman triathlon together just a few weeks back and say it's helped strengthen their relationship.

They're currently training for a 100 mile run in October.

Katy is an 18 year-old Lord Fairfax student who would follow her dad to his 5Ks when she was just nine years old.

She would run the kids 100 yard dash just for fun.

Then she got older and faster, and now, the two train and compete together regularly.
