Cardinals Lose at Winchester Playoff Hopes Still Alive

The Royals beat the Cardinals, 9-1.

Jimmy Yezzo hit two home runs for Winchester including a grand slam in the fourth inning.

With the loss, Front Royal falls to sixth place in the North Division.

Strasburg won at Luray Wednesday night eliminating the Wranglers from playoff contention.

Front Royal needs to win Thursday at Haymarket in the final night of the season and needs a Strasburg loss to keep their playoff hopes alive. In that scenario, the Express and Cardinals would be tied to end the season.

The Valley League playoff tie-breaker is unclear as of press time.
