SUDEP Walk
About 200 people woke up Sunday morning in Winchester to walk for the same reason. Hundreds of others from three other states were also participating in Chelsea's Epilepsy Walk for SUDEP Awareness.
SUDEP stands for Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy. Chelsea Hutchison died unexpectedly after having a seizure in her sleep at 16. It's a story, parents who lost children to SUDEP want people to remember.
"My granddaughter is 19. The monitors saved her and some of these doctors don't believe in it," said Reba Lafollette of Winchester.
"I learned that I was having seizures and we really couldn't tell so we decided to get me a service dog," said 15 year old Kaitlin Nolte.
The local walk raised more than $10,000. Multiple families participated in the walk in Winchester in remembrance of loved ones lost to SUDEP.
