Blue Ridge Wildlife Center Holds Hoot for Wildlife Event

The Blue Ridge Wildlife Center held a kickoff event this weekend in an effort to raise money to build a new facility to continue its treatment of wildlife.

The fundraiser was called "Hoot for Wildlife."

Folks at the event say it's important to help these animals in their time of need, and they're happy to do it.

"We have seen already this year 1600 wild animals," says the organization's Executive Director Jennifer Lee. "Rescue and rehabilitate then release them into the wild. We have a huge demand for our services, now we just need to build an adequate facility in which to do it."
