If your sunscreen says waterproof, don't think you're safe.
Medical professionals are saying it's just not true.
Valley Health Medical Center wants you to know the changes being made when it comes to sunscreen labels.
Basically, nothing is waterproof or sweatproof even if it says it is.
They're also offering free skin cancer screenings out of a megabus at different locations.
They say skin cancer is a prevalent problem, and knowing about these changes is important to your health.
"We do see a lot of patients that develop skin cancer and they come in for radiation to remove skin lesions so a lot of these skin lesions detected early on could be prevented if they only had the awareness out there to the public to know about it." said Cori Ashton.
