Community Says Goodbye to their "Local Hero"
The community says the meaning of life and love is what Trent taught them and now, it's time to share it with his family.
It's clear why this little boy had such a big impact.
"Inspirational, admirable, courageous, the strength that he showed in anything and everything that he did was remarkable. He had a heart bigger than the size of this world," said Melody Michelucci.
She and so many others were at Trent's memorial service describe him using those words.
Melody photographed his family's trip to Disney World.
"Just being able to spend time with such an amazing child and devote my time to just them for that entire week was more than anyone could ever give me," said Michelucci.
Roy Messick is a friend of the Williams family. He was even there the day Trent was born.
"So tiny, so cute. He's just been special from day one," said Messick.
Dwayne Williams, Trent's grandfather, says Trent impacted everyone he met, and even many who he didn't even know.
"He never knew a stranger, he always smiled. He melted your heart as soon as you met him," said Williams.
That's something everyone will remember. Trent's smiling face, even in the toughest of times.
"I've seen him sick... really really sick, but I'll say Trent give me a smile and he'll give you a smile," said Williams.
"Always smiling.... enjoyed life," said Messick.
Trent also enjoyed people. He was only 8-years-old but friends say that Trent knew the meaning of life, love, faith and strength more than most will ever understand.
"To him, life was the whole world... it wasn't just him. It was everybody," said Messick.
"If there were more people on this Earth today the way that Trent was just at 8-years-old... this world would be a much better place," said Michelucci.
Family and friends have set up the 'Trent A. Williams Foundation" in his memory.
Donations payable to 'Friends of Trent' can be dropped off at any First Bank branch.
