Valley Health Donates $5,000 to SAAA
Now to some good financial news for the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging.
Thursday afternoon, their 'Forty Friends' campaign jumped another $5,000.
Leaders from Valley Health presented the check Thursday afternoon.
They also promised to match an additional $10,000 from the public.
SAAA leaders say, their campaign has raised more than $17,000 for the agency.
Valley Health's Mark Merrill says, this donation was important because SAAA helps a lot of their patients.
"Many of our patients to will transition to a home care program through the agency, they'll assist with that. Their Well Tran service brings patients to doctor's offices for necessary visits, their Meals on Wheels enable the senior citizens to remain in their home and not be a burden to institutions in terms of being able to live in the home and continue being independent so it's just a wonderful organization," he says.
SAAA leaders say, since September they've reduced their expenses by almost half a million dollars.
This donation puts them almost 40-percent closer to their final fundraising goal.
