Part of James Wood High School could be up for renovation this summer.
The Frederick County School Board meets Tuesday at seven to talk about the work that needs to be done. The project would require a $1.5 million budget adjustment by the school board. It involves the demolition and rebuilding of three walls and could even lead to replacing the auxiliary gym floor.
Steve Edwards, with Frederick County Public Schools, explained, "Obviously this is something that was unexpected, and they're going to be taking action tonight as to how to fund the construction of those walls."
If approved by the school board, the division will work with a contractor to make the renovations. They expect the project to be finished by early fall.
