Brunswick County authorities are investigating the shooting deaths of two men.

Sheriff Brian Roberts said a 911 caller yesterday morning initially reported a traffic accident but called again to say the windows of the car apparently had been shot out and a man was face down in the yard.

Roberts, the first officer on the scene, found the man in the yard dead. His chief deputy arrived and found the body of a man in the front passenger seat of a car in a ditch across the road. Roberts said both men had been shot several times.

The victims were identified as 25-year-old William Hendricks Jr. and 20-year-old Bryant Lambert, both of Broadnax.

No arrests have been made.
