A free Thanksgiving dinner was held Tuesday night courtesy of the Middletown Fire and Rescue Company.
Crews there host bingo every Tuesday night. It's how they raise money to buy the majority of their equipment.
Volunteers got into the holiday spirit by providing a free Thanksgiving dinner for all the bingo players, hoping the meal would encourage more people to come out.
Fire Chief, Henry Shiley says the bingo night does not give them everything they need but that it definitely helps.
Shiley says, "It's really important for us to keep our fire and EMS system going and for buying new equipment. If it wasn't for our bingo, we'd be way behind on our equipment and everything else."
Shiley tells TV3, he thought of free Thanksgiving dinner night about five years ago and it is still one of their busiest nights.
