The director of the Winchester Department of Social Services will resign effective the first week of September.
Department of Social Services Director, Carla Taylor, submitted her resignation effective September 3 to pursue a career opportunity in Shenandoah County, Virginia.
A press release from the city states, "Carla’s tremendous knowledge and sincere concern for her staff, co-workers and clients will be greatly missed. The City wishes Carla great success in her future public service career and is grateful for all she was able to accomplish during her tenure in Winchester."
The city hopes to appoint an Interim Director before September 3.
