The United way of the Northern Shenandoah Valley and Familywize are partnering to help families stay healthy and save money.
They're cutting costs with the Familywize Card. It provides savings on prescription medicines and can be used by anyone. It's accepted at every chain pharmacy and most independent pharmacies.
The president of the local United Way, Joseph Shtulman, hopes more people will take advantage of the card.
"We've helped over six thousand individuals and helped support prescription drug discounts to the tune of about $800,000," he explained.
Savings on medications can be as much as 75% with the free Familywize prescription discount card.
