Students Remember 9/11

Updated: Sat 12:22 AM, Sep 10, 2011

Students in your community came together to remember the events of september 11th.

Seniors at Handley High School were only in second grade when the attack happened. Even though some say they don't remember the actual event, they say, they will always remember the people lost ten years ago.

"It was very surreal and humbling to be up on the stage to just be able to see everyone out there who people were crying when they were leaving and it was just very saddening to see all of that but at the same time very hopeful that we'll never forget what happened," said HHS Junior Hannah McKiernan.

Students did dramatic readings of actual letters people wrote following the attacks. Poems were read and memories shared, and Handley High School will have this flag on display throughout the weekend.
