Stonewall Elementary Has Pinwheels For Peace

It's the International Day of Peace and students at Stonewall Elementary in Frederick County are spreading the word.

For the past two weeks they have been designing pin wheels for peace.

Today they are out on display in front of the school for all to see.

The art teacher at the school says she wanted them to do this project so they could learn how important peace is.

"Each student, you know, grades first through fifth came into the art room and we talked about peace. They created their own pinwheel. One side of the pinwheel had to be based on and idea of peace or no bullying and then the other side we just added color." Said Beth Hottle.

All 375 students made a pinwheel.

Hottle says the kids have been very excited to do this.
