For many in a nearby Winchester neighborhood, the sound of construction equipment clearing trees came out of no where.

The eight acre area of land off of Pleasant Valley Road looks very different.

Crews are clearing the land bordering the K-Mart and prepping it for development.

One resident who lives in Greystone Terrace says, he was surprised to see this happening.

"Ya oh man I came home one day and it was clear sky. It was a wooded area. Clear sky and I was what happened and just saw all the construction equipment back there and I don't know what to say." said Schuyler Allen of Winchester.

Construction of the new proposed road has not been approved yet and we don't know of any plans for what may be developed here.
