Starting Monday February 11th, you won't be able to smoke within 50 feet of Rouss City Hall.

The government building was already smoke free, but just recently city leaders decided to implement a smoke free zone around the building.

It applies to everyone at all times.

"The City of Winchester first of all has initiated a wellness plan for our employees and along those lines we felt that it was important to encourage employees to live healthy lifestyles," said City Manager Dale Iman.

Iman says it was important to send the message that we would like employees to stop smoking during work hours. He says they are looking at other city facilities to consider if it would be appropriate to make them smoke-free too.
