With the latest smart phones, you can take photos, video chat, and of course, make phone calls around the world. There's a lot more to these gadgets than you may think, though.
Using these devices, you can now control your TV, start your car, and even get a degree while sitting in traffic!
"If you have an interest, there are probably several apps out there that will address an interest you have," explained Gannon Nordberg, an Apple Technician at WinTech in Winchester.
There are even apps made for moms.
Andrea Ross, Operations Manager at WinTech, added, "She could shop online, she could do all the grocery shopping, and upload a grocery list and pick up the groceries."
With today's tech, the possibilities are virtually limitless.
Ross went on to say, "She could use an app to tell her phone to start her car, and as long as it's an automatic transmission, you could start your car."
She's got access to apps that are changing lives for women like her at her finger tips If you haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, is it worth it? Nordberg says yes.
"I think if you're not embracing it now, it's only going to get more frustrating," he explained.
If you're frustrated and can't sleep at night, your phone might be able to show you why. There are apps out there that track your sleep at night using sensors in your phone. After you've had a good night's rest, you can work on that college degree with the help of your phone too.
While sitting in traffic, you can work on your latest assignments through apps like Blackboard, or you can use Google to see where that traffic is and reroute your trip around it.
"You need to jump in and just start using the applications,” continued Ross. “You realize how much they are able to help you."
Some people use Apple iPhones and others use Android devices. The experts I talked to say you can find very similar apps for both kinds of smart phone. The same goes for tablets like the iPad and Kindle Fire too.
