Due to the severity of Friday night's thunderstorm, 14,000 SVEC customers are without power from Augusta County through Frederick County to the West Virginia state line.

SVEC says that because of the severity of the storm, it may take days to restore power to all customers.

As a result of significant damage, SVEC says they expect the number of customers without power to rise.

Residents are advised to not touch downed power lines or debris on power lines. Customers can call SVEC with power issues at 1800-234-7832.
