UPDATE 1:00 p.m.: Route 50 is open again west of Gore after an accident had shut down the roadway.

Traffic is moving slowly on Route 50 near Overlook Road after a 2 car accident Monday morning.

The accident happened shortly before 11am Monday morning. A mother and child had to be cut out of their car after the accident. They were taken to Winchester Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.

The other driver was treated at the scene for scrapes and bruises.

As of 12 pm on Monday cars were moving through Route 50, but one lane is still blocked.
